SSDs have become an inevitable storage tool for the PC world. Asus, on the other hand, has innovated and combined SSD and graphics card. Asus announced the Dual GeForce RTX 4060 Ti SSD with integrated M.2 slot designed for gamers.
What does the Asus GeForce RTX 4060 Ti SSD offer?
The RTX 4060 Ti SSD features Nvidia’s RT and Tensor cores for AI features like ray-tracing and DLSS 3.5. But it also boasts the ability to directly mount a 2280 NVMe SSD. This provides a new storage option in addition to the M.2 slot on the motherboard.
More important is the cooling system/SSD integration provided by Asus for the graphics card. The company claims that the innovative design will help keep the SSD up to 40 percent cooler than standard slots. Thanks to the dual fans and cooling pads, the M2 slot will run more efficiently for longer periods of time.
Based on the RTX 4060 Ti, the new model works with one 8-pin power connector. This means it can be incorporated into most motherboard systems. Asus said it utilizes PCIe Gen 5 specifications for optimal speeds. It also recommends plugging it into the primary PCIe slot for direct communication between the SSD and CPU.
GeForce RTX 4060 Ti specifications:
- GPU: AD106
- CUDA: 3072
- Memory: 8-16 GB GDDR6
- Memory interface 128 bit
- TGP: 115W
- TDP: 110W
- DLSS: 3
